the idea

of people

more than

the people

themselves

to abandon

all heartwarming

certainties

in favor

of a lonely

skepticism

would have 

to bear an

abnormal

burden

an optimum

condition

for historic

upheaval

a black hole

from which

no human

light can

emerge

solving

the problems

of mankind

acquired in

a hundred

centuries

of trial

and error

forgiving

nothing

demanding

everything

consists in

a common

failure

to learn

from the past

we live in

a society

which is

dissolving

although

the end

may yet

be a long

time coming

and some

of the rules

are in need

of a thorough

overhaul

but the

immoral

theatre of

the world

is simply

bizarre

there remains

an unuprooted

small corner

of evil

for even

the best

of all hearts

and hoping

that a new

species of

free man

would arise

from the

ashes of

catastrophe

is making

the world

a safer

place for

hypocrisy
