thinking the
unthought

by Roberto Lavidez

man
forgets
himself
because
he exists
entirely
for the
moment
an endless
present or
permanent
temporal
fusion of
past and
future in
the now
so that
he should
part with
its past
cheerfully
imbued
with the
necessity of
thinking the
unthought
falling
outside
the scope
of intentions
like a
presupposition
that
conditions us
but that
we are
unable
to grasp
it is a
drawing life
from
the dead
plucking
redemption
from the
jaws of
defeat
like a worm
that eats
its way
forwards
to penetrate
each atom
to get down
to the depth
of matter
to develop
a framework
in which
some
restitution
reparation
can be
achieved
seeking
to move
beyond
the here
and now
of physical
reality
to give an
astonishing
sense of
weightlessness
with regard
to the gravity
of history
denied in
the culture
of anecdote
and nostalgic
order
we live in
a disenchanted
world
reduced to
a background
which always
appears
the same
oddly
tangential
to its most
pressing
concerns
whereby
meaning
expresses
itself
in the
dream
