some humanity
by
Roberto Lavidez
some humans
are more human
than
others
animated
by
curiosity
and the
thirst
for
knowledge
living
to seek
meaning
seeking
to know
the world
treads
through
interwovenness
of human
life with
the
natural world
standing
firm
against the
threatening
flux
of daily
existence
overcoming
paralysis
typical of
the
hopeless
engaged in
curing the
ills
regarded
as
the
impossible
the
intractably
unpoetic
plunging into
controversies
of
historical
determinism
probing into
man’s mental
functioning and
dysfunctioning
which
prompts
a bird to
cry out
in protest
before
disappearing
into the
rainstorm
into the common
mass
of common
rubbish
all too familiar
with the
reduction
of men to
machines
incessantly voicing
forbodings of its
diminished future
diminished future
cursing those
deemed civilized
for
undermining
their so called sense
of
empirical faultiness
and moral
gravity
for the
unspeakable shit
that they
leave behind
the unscriptable
that remains in culture
the unscriptable
that remains in culture
