of rocks and bones
by Roberto Lavidez

looking
at history
at the narrative
of rocks
and bones
all of us are
vanquished
victims
of the ravaging
great swath
of earth
strewed about
in a haphazard
mess
amid a spasm
of communal
bloodletting
the monster
is far from
tamed
in a landscape
disappearing
under concrete
thunder rumbled
and rain drops
drilled the earth
the further one
probed into the
human evolutionary
path
must of necessity
build on the ruins
seeking an inner
sanctum within
a wilderness
but once it was gone
it could'nt be
imagined anymore
as if wandering
through a museum
stripped of its
artifacts
a telling sign
of a restive nation
with the expected
consequences of living
