aesthetic assault

of the macabre

ruling the

turbulent rabble

of carnal passions

drawn upon the

vestiges of

living memory

as if the woe

had appeared

without any

human rhyme

or reason

to imagine

the lost world

of childhood

becomes the clue

to perplexities

dissolving the

concreteness

of imagery

exposed as a

simple-minded

delusion

disconnected

from the mastery

of the art of life

or a divinely

ordered universe

plunging 

into almost

indecipherable

script

rarefied 

to the point

of absurdity

spinning and

disoriented

in the slipstream

of memories

wandering alone

tormented

nevertheless

refusing 

to cave in

to the insanity 

that swirled 

around

the bewildering

human spectacle

curious about 

the nature of

a dream 

landscape

of shimmering 

steppe

and distant 

mountains

sparking interest 

about the only way

mortal men

can conquer 

mortality

suddenly stirred 

by defiant 

human condition

evoking 

imperturbable

disinterestedness
