Air
By Roberto
Lavidez
the planet
hanging
the air
hanging
cumulus
clouds
float across
blue sky
reality is
a question
of realizing
how real
the world is
already
mouths
bleeding
on every
continent
my own
wall plaster
cracked
that horror
that keeps me
conscious
in the hell
of birth
and death
I fear
that others
may know
I am here
delivering
anxiety
mushrooms
to the dancing
red gummed
skeletons
dying
to finish
its all
too famous
misery
crying
dysentery
boneface
on the
urinal
street of
the self
who am I?
saliva
vegetable soup
empty mouth?
Buddha died
and left
behind
a big
emptiness
not even
the human
imagination
satisfies
the endless
emptiness
of the soul
I cashed
a great check
in my
skull bank
take it
said the
skeleton
but leave
my bones
alone
Holy! Holy!
Holy! Holy!
I didn’t
come here
to solve
anything
too tired
to go out
for a walk
too tired
to end
the war
birdbrain
runs
the world
someone
uncontrolled
by History
would have
to own Heaven
I cried
at the
sadness of
middle-aged
trees
a lost
battalion
of platonic
conversationalists

walking
between
Vallejos
By Roberto Lavidez
walking
between
colorless
protests
I carry
absentmindedly,
relics, things,
memories,
suggestions
to return
by the minute
across exploded
bridges
when the street
is hollow-eyed
with doors
my anxious
heart
whispers with
I don’t know
what recollection
I came
as far
as the wall
facing life
misery
pulls me out
between
my own teeth
to what
we are being
without
knowing it
let me flog
myself
like a sinner
unending rope
like a volute
descending
from evil
the pleasure
of suffering
extended
toward the
depth of beings
who? whom?
who, the molars?
I sounded
toward things
in this way
seeking
burials of
absurd gold
time is
crowned
with doves
and the future
is filled
with
caravans
of immortal
roses
today
no one
has come
to inquire
sing
rain on the
coast
still without
sea
a tragic
blue
of dead
idylls
weeps
each
melodious
fruit
will bleed
like a
funereal
sun
except
for that
which is
left
in life!

Rimbaudiness
by Roberto
Lavidez
I might
glimpse
my darling’s
assumption
as I patiently
sought means
and ends
I don’t say
a word
I just stare
at the flesh
I will know
the ancient
charm of the
essential
turning
infamy
into glory
cruelty
into charm
we know
how to live
completely
every day
flowed
a tear
a tear of love
neither
tormenting
nor tormented
and nothing
is put away
immobile
and mute
every rebel
plants a kiss
slowly
advancing on
pale horses
to redeem
the wanting
we produce
left me
with an
agreeable
memory
I went
to sleep
but not
before
having drunk
water from
the stream
out of joy
it became
a fabulous
opera
perhaps
moons and
comets
collide at
these depths
seas and
stories
O fertile mind
boundless
universe
what do
my words
mean
the child
feels
an urge
to cry
welling
and dying
endlessly to
over-flowing
with fruits
and fragrant
flowers
in grumbling
trees and
nocturnal
sighs
to hell
with my
suffering
if we
returned
to exile
I would be
to blame

pulse of life
by Roberto Lavidez
it is present
but invisible
inaudible
a somewhat
differently
clothed
imperialism
of global
modalities
a time
devoid of
emancipation
narratives
to perceive
all too clearly
the difference
between
freedom
and slavery
we have
become
the new
endangered
species
with all things
stratified
and stagnant
only the cast
of characters
is altered
to fit new
circumstances
enclosed by
the waters
and the
passage
of time
positioned
to receive
contradictory
messages
the dispensation
of rewards
and eternal
condemnation
all the
destruction
bloodshed
famines and
pestilences
endured
the slavery
of some
came to be
considered
necessary
to the
freedom
of others
quickening
the pulse
of life
the mixture
of kindness
and cruelty
so prevalent
throughout
temporalizing
and spatializing
regimes
that write
the maps of
world history
imposing itself
with predictable
and schematic
obviousness
a chronicle
of marvelous
reality

thinking the
unthought
by Roberto Lavidez
man
forgets
himself
because
he exists
entirely
for the
moment
an endless
present or
permanent
temporal
fusion of
past and
future in
the now
so that
he should
part with
its past
cheerfully
imbued
with the
necessity of
thinking the
unthought
falling
outside
the scope
of intentions
like a
presupposition
that
conditions us
but that
we are
unable
to grasp
it is a
drawing life
from
the dead
plucking
redemption
from the
jaws of
defeat
like a worm
that eats
its way
forwards
to penetrate
each atom
to get down
to the depth
of matter
to develop
a framework
in which
some
restitution
reparation
can be
achieved
seeking
to move
beyond
the here
and now
of physical
reality
to give an
astonishing
sense of
weightlessness
with regard
to the gravity
of history
denied in
the culture
of anecdote
and nostalgic
order
we live in
a disenchanted
world
reduced to
a background
which always
appears
the same
oddly
tangential
to its most
pressing
concerns
whereby
meaning
expresses
itself
in the
dream

the real
question
by Roberto
Lavidez
one must
conduct
a careful
study
of the
whole
intelligible
realm
we
who are
together
exiles in
hatred and
despair
must talk
things over
rather than
merely obey
in silence
the important
thing
is to live
and survive
through
stubbornness
and endurance
that we
haven’t become
cowards
or cannibals
to find
the courage
to denounce
its own errors
the real
question
is not how
to die
separately
but how
to live
together
with the
emphasis
on the
temporality
of the world
each day
more
oppressive
than the last

the stone
by Roberto Lavidez
the point
of departure
is the stone
a unified
origin and
a shared
end with
blood
in other
words
it never
ends
the variety
of different
things
existing in
the universe
they are
bound to be
problematic
without
justifying
its excesses
metaphors
of our own
loneliness
a loneliness
in motion
darkening an
atmosphere
from which
we thought
the posion
had been
drained
things both
fall apart
and become
unknowable
they are
beyond both
thinking
and being
like a
desert track
that a gust
of wind
could erase
we don’t
overcome
the alienation
in our life
we cannot
add useless
words to a
set of facts
we know that
in the end
we all lose
the stone
should be
able to speak
for itself
